SCHOOL & ORPHANAGE
Mission
KINGSLAND SCHOOL AND ORPHANAGE SERVES UGANDA'S CHILDREN, SUSTAINING HOPE FOR THE FUTURE AND A PLACE TO CALL HOME.

About Kingsland
After graduating college, Kingsland’s owner and founder, Mesach, noticed an acute absence of healthcare and education for Uganda’s orphaned and vulnerable children. What began as a service to a few families has blossomed into a critical mission that the region relies on. For over 20 years, Kingsland has been more than just a home for Uganda’s children, offering quality education, vital medical care, and a deep sense of belonging, now housing and educating over 400 children.
The results speak for themselves. Kingsland graduates have gone on to become lawyers, doctors, and community leaders, not in spite of where they started, but because of what Kingsland gave them. Each graduate is a testament to what is possible when a child is simply given the chance to thrive.
Kingsland's mission has always been straightforward: pour love and care into young lives so that no child's future is determined by their circumstances. Twenty years in, that mission has never been more alive.

EVERY CHILD DESERVES A HOME, A FUTURE, AND A CHANCE TO THRIVE.

Meet Mesach
Mesach Ssebula grew up in Masaka, Uganda, and from an early age he understood what it meant to live in a community stretched thin. He saw firsthand the weight that a community bears without proper access to education, childcare, or medical care.
During college, Mesach joined a mission trip to dig a well for a rural community that had no access to clean water. More than two decades later, that well is still going strong, delivering clean water for the next generation. Mesach witnessed how $500 and a few days of hard labor could transform a community, and he came home with the burning question: if that is possible, what else?
As Mesach completed his studies, an HIV crisis was sweeping through his home region of Masaka, leaving behind a generation of orphaned children with nowhere to turn. The need was urgent, visible, and unmet.
What began in 2001 as care for a few families has grown into one of the region's most vital institutions. Founded in 2013, Kingsland is now home to over 400 children, providing quality education, consistent medical care, and a stable, loving environment for kids who might otherwise have had none of those things. Mesach has remained at the center of it, not as a distant administrator, but as someone who still shows up, still knows the children by name, and still believes that no circumstance is too difficult to overcome with the right support behind you.
More than 20 years of students are a testament to the care and dedication of Mesach and Kingsland’s team of care providers.
